If you want to spend a day with your family and enjoy literature and art with your kids, you’re lucky: the 8th edition of the Festival of Literatures and Arts for Children and Youth (FLIC) has just started in Barcelona. A contest that offers a large number of proposals —workshops, shows, music, movies…— designed especially for children from 0 to 12 years old and whose main objective is to encourage literature among children.

In addition, under the motto "No child without culture", the FLIC has invited companies, organizations and individuals to facilitate access to the festival for audiences at risk of social exclusion.

Films that use illustration as a narrative tool, shadow theater to tell stories, spaces where children can browse through books with sound or read great classics of popular culture through illustrations are some of the activities that those who are young and not so young can enjoy during the two months of the festival.

The festival, which has the theme "Literatures in Play", has started this January at the Filmoteca de Catalunya together with many more spaces like MACBA, MNAC or CCCB, in Barcelona, and will be in the Catalan capital until March 3rd. In addition, it will make a stop in Madrid for a week, from February 27th to March 3rd.
